Someone in the kitchen is about to leave. Handovers are exchanged, the air changes slightly, and everyone understands that one familiar presence will soon be gone. Even so, service continues, the counters are used as always, and the kitchen keeps moving forward almost unchanged.
厨房から、ひとりがもうすぐ去っていく。
引き継ぎの言葉が交わされ、空気はほんの少しだけ変わり、
そこにいた誰もが、見慣れた存在がまもなくいなくなることを知っている。
それでもサービスは続き、作業台はいつものように使われ、厨房はほとんど変わらないまま前へ進んでいく。
People change. The kitchen stays. 人は変わっていく。それでも厨房はそこにある。
Someone in the kitchen was leaving.
The decision had already been made.
A few handovers were underway.
Small practical conversations moved between ordinary tasks.
No one stopped working because of it.
Orders still had to be checked.
Garnishes still had to be prepared.
Stainless-steel counters still had to be cleaned.
Mio worked through the shift as she always did.
She listened, answered, carried, wiped, and moved to the next task.
In between, fragments of farewell were scattered through the kitchen —
not dramatic, not ceremonial, simply woven into the routine.
That was what stayed with her most.
A workplace does not pause just because someone is nearing their end there.
It keeps moving, almost indifferent, and yet full of quiet feeling at the same time.
As the busiest hours began to ease, the atmosphere shifted little by little.
The noise softened.
Movements slowed.
Urgent tasks gave way to cleaning and preparation for tomorrow.
The person who was leaving was still part of the kitchen.
Still crossing the same floor.
Still touching the same counters.
Still inside the same rhythm as everyone else.
And yet that same rhythm made the moment feel more fragile.
Because the kitchen would continue tomorrow.
The lights would come on again.
The work would begin again.
Only one person would no longer be there.
Mio did not think of it as a grand ending.
It felt smaller than that. More ordinary. More true.
People arrive.
People work beside one another for a while.
Eventually, someone leaves.
And all the while, the kitchen remains.
物語
厨房の職場から、ひとりが去ることになった。
その決定はすでに共有されていて、
いくつかの引き継ぎが始まり、
いつもの作業の合間に、実務的な会話が静かに行き交っていた。
だからといって、誰かが手を止めるわけではない。
オーダーは確認しなければならない。
付け合わせの準備も続く。
ステンレスの作業台も、いつものように拭かなければならない。
澪も、いつものようにそのシフトの中で働いていた。
聞いて、返事をして、運んで、拭いて、次の作業へ向かう。
その合間に、別れにまつわる言葉が少しずつ厨房の中へ混ざっていく。
劇的でもなく、儀式のようでもなく、ただ日常の流れの中へ自然に織り込まれていた。
澪の中に強く残ったのは、むしろそのことだった。
職場は、誰かの終わりが近づいているからといって止まらない。
ほとんど無関心なほど変わらず進みながら、
それでも同時に静かな感情を含んでいる。
忙しい時間が少しずつ過ぎていくと、厨房の空気はわずかに変わり始める。
音がやわらぐ。
動きがゆっくりになる。
急ぎの作業が、片付けと明日の準備へ移っていく。
去っていく人も、まだその厨房の一部だった。
同じ床を歩き、
同じ作業台に触れ、
まだみんなと同じリズムの中にいる。
けれど、その同じリズムの中にいるからこそ、かえってその時間は脆く見える。
明日になれば、厨房はまた動き出す。
灯りはつく。
仕事は始まる。
ただ、そこにいない人がひとり増えるだけだ。
澪は、それを大げさな別れだとは感じなかった。
もっと小さく、 もっと日常的で、 だからこそ本当のことのように思えた。
人がやってくる。
しばらく同じ時間を働く。
そして、誰かが去っていく。
そのあいだも、厨房は変わらずそこにあり続ける。

The focus is not on a dramatic farewell scene, but on the ordinary form that change often takes inside a workplace.
Someone is preparing to leave. At the same time, the kitchen continues to function exactly as it must: service, checking, cleaning, and preparing for tomorrow.
That tension between change and continuity is the center of the work.
What changes are the people passing through the kitchen.
What remains is the place, the rhythm, and the work itself.
Rather than explaining the emotion directly, this page tries to show how a workplace can hold quiet feeling without losing its everyday realism.
The result is a story about a kitchen that keeps moving, even when one person’s time inside it is quietly coming to an end.

その「変わっていくもの」と「残り続けるもの」の緊張感が、この作品の中心です。
変わっていくのは、厨房を通り過ぎていく人たちです。
残り続けるのは、場所であり、リズムであり、仕事そのものです。
感情を説明しすぎるのではなく、 職場が日常のリアルさを失わないまま、静かな感情を抱えていることを見せたいと考えました。
ひとりの時間がこの厨房で静かに終わろうとしている。
それでも厨房は動き続ける。
